THREAD: My ashwagandha gummies changed color and got hard - are they still safe to take?Started by OP

Hey everyone, hoping for some advice. I bought a bottle of ashwagandha gummies about a month ago and they were fine at first. Now I noticed they've turned a darker brownish color and some of them are getting really hard, almost crunchy. A few are sticking together too. They don't smell bad or anything, but I'm worried about whether they're still safe to eat. Has anyone else had this happen?

Happens with gummies sometimes. Sugar bloom or moisture loss. Probably safe if stored properly, but potency might drop. I'd contact the brand for batch info. Personally, I stick to capsules - less variables.

Oh no! I've had this happen with my ashwagandha gummies too, especially during humid weather. The sticking together is usually from humidity, and the hardening might be from them drying out. As long as there's no mold (check carefully!), they're likely safe but might not taste great. I'd store them with a silica packet next time! Also, maybe check the expiration date? Sending good vibes your way!

lol yeah my gummies do that all the time when I'm traveling. humidity changes from place to place mess with them. they're probably fine if they're not expired and you kept them sealed. i still eat mine when they get hard, just chew extra. but if you're worried, maybe just get a new bottle? ashwagandha is cheap enough
