Traveling with Ashwagandha Gummies - Melt? TSA? Need Tips!
Hey all, I'm going on a road trip next week and then flying back. I take ashwagandha gummies daily for stress. Will they melt in a hot car? And what about TSA - do they count as liquid? Any storage tips? I'm worried they'll turn into a blob. Thanks!
TSA is usually cool with gummies. I've brought them through in my carry-on multiple times. Just treat them like any other solid food. But if they're coated in something oily, they might flag it. I'd put them in a clear bag to be safe. As for melting, depends on the brand. Some use gelatin, others pectin. Pectin ones tend to hold up better in heat. But if it's really hot, yeah, they can get sticky. Maybe get a small cooler bag? I use a USB-powered mini fridge for my supplements when I travel. Works great!
Namaste, Pete. I travel a lot for yoga retreats and always bring my ashwagandha gummies. For melting, I suggest keeping them in a cool, dark place. If you're hiking, put them in an insulated pouch with a small ice pack. But don't let them freeze - that can make them crumbly. TSA: I've never had an issue. Just declare them if you're unsure. Also, check the ingredients - some gummies have sugar alcohols that can cause digestive issues on the road. Opt for sugar-free if you can. Safe travels!
Thanks for the tips! I didn't think about pectin vs gelatin. Mine are gelatin-based, so I'll be careful. The USB fridge sounds cool but maybe overkill for a road trip. I'll try the insulated pouch with ice pack. And yeah, I always go sugar-free - that's why I'm PurePete! Any issues with altitude? I'm driving through mountains.
Altitude shouldn't affect gummies much, but if they're in a sealed container, pressure changes might make the lid pop. I'd burp the container before you go. Also, if you're flying, put them in your carry-on - checked luggage can get really hot or cold. And yeah, USB fridge is a bit much for a road trip, but for long flights it's a lifesaver. Let us know how it goes!
