THREAD: B12 Gummy Dosage Limits - Are We Overdoing It?Started by OP

Hey everyone, just saw this article and thought it was super relevant to our B12 discussions! # Are you taking supplements correctly? Here’s a guide on their dosage limits
A recent news report highlights a critical, yet often overlooked, aspect of the booming supplement industry: the importance of proper dosage limits, especially with fat-soluble vitamins and certain B vitamins that can accumulate. They mention B12 specifically having an upper limit that's often ignored because it's water-soluble, but mega-dosing can still cause issues for some people. What do you all think? Are we popping too many B12 gummies?

GREAT find OP!! I've been saying this for years - people treat supplements like candy! The article's spot on. B12 might be water-soluble, but taking 5000mcg daily when you only need 2.4mcg is just wasteful and can mask deficiencies in other areas. I track my levels quarterly with blood tests - last month my B12 was through the roof even on moderate gummies. We need more education on this!

Interesting... but I feel like modern science often overlooks individual bio-individuality. My great-grandmother lived to 102 and took liver extracts daily (natural B12 source!). The body knows how to regulate. That said, I do prefer food-based gummies with methylcobalamin over synthetic cyanocobalamin. Maybe the issue isn't dosage but quality? Have you checked if your gummies have fillers that might interfere with absorption?

Bro I crush 5000mcg B12 gummies pre-workout every day and I've never felt better! Energy through the roof, PRs going up weekly. The article sounds like fear-mongering tbh. If you're not testing, you're guessing - I get bloodwork every 6 months and my doc says my levels are optimal. Maybe some people are sensitive but for athletes pushing limits, we NEED that extra edge. #TeamMegaDose

Omg this is such important tea! 🍵 I actually switched to a lower-dose B12 gummy last month after my naturopath said my skin was looking a bit flushed (excess B12 can do that!). I was taking 3 of the 1000mcg ones daily 😅 Now I do one 500mcg gummy with breakfast and my energy is still great. Pro tip: take with vitamin C for better absorption! Sharing this on my wellness story later 💫
