THREAD: Can I mix my B12 gummies with my morning coffee?Started by DynamicDan

Hey everyone, college student here trying to save money and stay healthy. I've been taking these cheap B12 gummies from the store (the ones in the orange bottle) every morning. Usually I just pop one with my coffee. Is that okay? I heard B12 gives you energy but coffee does too... am I overdoing it or wasting the gummy? Also, if it's safe, does it actually work better together? Thanks!

Ah, the classic combo! Takes me back to my blogging days in the early 2000s when I'd review all sorts of supplements. From what I remember, B12 and caffeine don't really interact badly—no big safety red flags. But here's a nostalgic tip: some old-school health gurus said taking B12 on an empty stomach (before coffee) helps absorption. Not sure if that's true for gummies though, since they have other stuff in them. Personally, I used to take mine with green tea instead, felt more balanced. Anyone else remember those old forum debates about this?

As a keto believer, I focus on optimizing everything for my diet. B12 is crucial for energy on low-carb, but mixing it with coffee might not be ideal. Caffeine can sometimes interfere with nutrient absorption—I've read it can reduce B vitamin uptake. If you're on a budget like Dan, you don't want to waste that gummy! Try taking it 30 mins before or after your coffee. Also, check if your gummy has added sugars; many do, and that's a no-go for keto. Stick to whole foods for B12 when possible, like liver or eggs, but if you need a gummy, time it smart.
