THREAD: Help! My homemade B12 gummies turned into a sticky mess - recipe tips?Started by KaleKen847

Hey everyone! So I tried making my own B12 gummies at home using gelatin and some vitamin powder I got online. Followed a basic recipe but they came out super sticky and wouldn't set properly. They're like weird vitamin jello blobs lol. Anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to avoid store-bought ones with all the extra sugars. Thanks!

Classic mistake - modern recipes overcomplicate things. My grandma used to make her own supplements back in the day. You need proper ratios: 1 tbsp gelatin to 1/4 cup liquid MAX. Are you using fruit juice or water? And did you let the gelatin bloom first? Also, B12 powder can be tricky - it might be reacting with something. Try agar agar instead, more stable.

Bro I feel you! I make protein gummies all the time for post-workout. Key is temperature control - don't let it boil or you kill the B12 potency. Also add a tiny bit of citric acid (like lemon juice) to help set. What's your exact recipe? Might need more gelatin. And are you using methylcobalamin or cyanocobalamin powder? Big difference in stability.

omg i tried this last month when my kids refused their vitamins. total disaster lol. mine melted into a puddle. vince is right about ratios - i used too much liquid. also the molds matter! silicone works best. pro tip: add a little honey instead of sugar, helps binding. but honestly after 3 failed batches i just bought some. sleep > perfect gummies 😴
