Just saw this study on collagen supplements - apparently they don't do much for skin elasticity. I've been taking those beauty gummies for months, thinking they'd help my skin. What do you guys think? Is this legit or just another hit piece on supplements? Link: [news article]

Haha Dan, you know I'm all about fasting, but even I know collagen gummies are mostly hype. The study probably has a point - most of those peptides get broken down in your stomach anyway. I'd save your money and invest in some good bone broth. But hey, if you like the taste, no harm.

Oh my, I've been giving these to my granddaughter! She's 16 and worried about her skin. Are they safe at least? I don't want her taking anything that's not proven. That study sounds concerning. Maybe I should switch her to a multivitamin? She does like the gummy bears though.

Cathy, they're probably safe - just maybe not effective for skin. But at her age, she probably doesn't need extra collagen anyway. Focus on a good diet and sunscreen. And Frank, I hear you on the bone broth, but as a gummy, it's just so convenient. I'll have to read the full study though.

Yeah, convenience is a killer. But remember, supplements are just that - supplementing. Not magic. If you want glowing skin, drink water, eat your veggies, and get some sleep. Those gummies are just expensive candy with a side of hope. Just my two cents.
