THREAD: Traveling with Beauty Gummies - Do They Melt? TSA Rules?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I'm heading out on a trip next week - mix of flying and some hiking. I've been taking these collagen beauty gummies daily and don't want to break my streak. Anyone have experience traveling with them? Do they melt in heat? What about TSA rules - can I bring them in my carry-on? Also, any storage tips for when I'm on the road? Thanks!

Good question OP. From a biohacking perspective, temperature stability matters. Most gummies start to degrade above 86°F (30°C). If you're hiking in direct sun or leaving them in a hot car, they'll definitely get sticky/melty. For flights: TSA allows supplements in carry-ons, but keep them in original packaging if possible - makes inspection easier. Pro-tip: Use a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack if you're worried about heat during transit. Also, consider switching to powdered collagen during travel days - more stable and easier to dose precisely.

I make my own beauty gummies sometimes! When I travel, I actually put them in a small airtight container with some silica gel packets to absorb moisture. Works great for road trips. For flying, I've never had TSA stop me for homemade ones, but I usually put a label saying 'DIY supplements' just in case. If you're worried about melting, you could try adding a bit more gelatin to your recipe next time - makes them more heat resistant! For store-bought ones, maybe keep them in the cooler section of your bag?

omg i literally had this happen last month! was on a meditation retreat road trip and left my biotin gummies in the glove compartment during a hike. came back to a sticky mess lol. learned my lesson - now i always keep them in the main part of my backpack, not near windows. TSA has never said anything about mine, but i keep them in the original bottle. maybe try putting them in a ziplock just in case they do get melty? less messy that way!

Check the ingredients on those beauty gummies OP - many have sugar alcohols that can make them more prone to melting. As a keto believer, I switched to sugar-free versions that seem more stable. For travel, I use a small thermos-style container. TSA-wise, never had issues, but I agree with Steve about keeping original packaging. One more thing: if you're doing keto on your trip, watch those carbs in beauty gummies - some have surprising amounts! Safe travels!
