Biotin Gummies = Candy? Sugar content is out of control!
Alright, I gotta vent. I've been taking biotin for years to help with hair and nails, but lately every brand is pushing these gummy versions. I looked at the label on a popular one and it's like 3g of sugar per gummy! And you're supposed to take 2-3 a day. That's basically a handful of candy. What happened to just swallowing a pill? Is convenience really worth the sugar bomb? I'm not trying to undo my gym progress with my supplement routine. Anyone else fed up with this 'candy-fication' of vitamins?
OMG yes! I switched to biotin gummies because I kept forgetting to take pills, and they taste so good I have to stop myself from eating extra. But then I realized I was basically eating a handful of gummy bears every morning. As a sleep-deprived parent, I need all the help I can get, but the sugar crash isn't it. I found some sugar-free ones but they have maltitol and that gives me... digestive issues. Can't win!
I get where you're coming from, but I think it's a trade-off. For people who hate swallowing pills, gummies are a game-changer. I used to skip my biotin all the time, but now I actually take it consistently. Yeah, there's sugar, but it's like 2g per gummy. If you're that worried, just factor it into your macros. Or look for ones sweetened with stevia or monk fruit. There are options. But I do agree some brands are basically candy. Gotta read labels.
I'm all about natural stuff, so I avoid gummies with artificial colors and corn syrup. But I also meditate on it. If a little sugar helps you remember to take your vitamins, maybe that's okay? Balance, right? Though I gotta say, the biotin gummies I tried were so tasty I ate half the bottle in one sitting. Not very mindful. Maybe I should stick to pills.
