Hey all, just saw this article where dermatologists say biotin might not do much for hair growth unless you're deficient. But the gummy industry is booming! As a vegan, I'm all for plant-based supplements, but are these biotin gummies just hype? I've been taking them for a month and my nails seem stronger, but hair? Not sure. Thoughts?

OMG I totally get you! I jumped on the biotin gummy train after seeing all those influencers. I've been taking 5000mcg for like 3 months and my hair is shedding less? Maybe? But it could be the new shampoo I got from that subscription box. Honestly, I think it's more about the overall diet and stress levels. Still, the gummies taste great and I'm a sucker for cute packaging. ๐Ÿ˜…

I actually track my supplement intake with an app, and I've been taking biotin gummies for 6 months. I ran out for a couple weeks and didn't notice a huge difference in hair, but my energy dipped? Could be placebo. I think the article is right โ€“ unless you have a deficiency, it's probably not a magic bullet. But hey, if it works for you, keep at it. I'm more into nootropics for focus, but biotin is cheap enough to experiment. Has anyone tried those hair, skin, and nails gummies with collagen too?

Thanks for the input! I agree, diet is key. I eat a ton of lentils and nuts, so maybe I'm already getting enough biotin. But I do like the convenience of gummies. Nina, I haven't tried the collagen ones because most aren't vegan, but I heard there are vegan versions with silica from bamboo. Might give that a shot next.
