THREAD: DIY Biotin Gummies - My batch came out weird, help!Started by OP

Hey everyone, tried making my own biotin gummies at home to save some cash. Used gelatin, some biotin powder I got online, and a little honey for sweetness. They came out super rubbery and didn't set right - more like weird jello blobs than gummies. Anyone have a solid recipe or know what I did wrong? I'm worried I wasted the biotin powder.

Bro, I feel you! I tried this last month after my WOD when I realized my store-bought gummies had too much sugar. Key is the gelatin-to-liquid ratio - too much gelatin = rubber city. I use 1 tbsp gelatin per 1/2 cup liquid (I use coconut water for extra electrolytes). Also, mix the biotin powder with a tiny bit of warm liquid first so it dissolves fully, otherwise it clumps. Mine came out perfect, and now I add a scoop of collagen too for recovery. #Gains

Honestly, this is why I stick to traditional supplements. Home brewing vitamins is tricky - you might not get the dosage right or even stability. But if you're set on it, try agar agar instead of gelatin. It sets firmer and is plant-based. My wife uses it for her herbal blends. Just follow a basic agar gummy recipe and add the biotin at the end off heat to preserve potency. And measure everything precisely!

Ooh, DIY nootropics! I've been experimenting with this using a silicone mold I got from a biohacking site. Vince has a point about agar - it's more consistent. I also add a dash of sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier to prevent separation. Pro tip: use a dropper to add the biotin mix to the molds for accurate dosing. My batch last week came out great, and I tracked the metrics via my health app. Maybe your temp was off when pouring?

Kids these days... making gummies in the kitchen. Be careful with that biotin powder - my granddaughter tried something similar and ended up with a stomachache. Are you sure it's food-grade? And watch the dosage, too much biotin isn't good either. Maybe just buy a trusted brand? But if you insist, my old Betty Crocker trick: add a teaspoon of lemon juice to help with texture. Hope your next batch turns out better for your sake!
