THREAD: Gummy Vitamin Flavor Debate: Love the Berry, Hate the Citrus - What Should I Try Next?Started by VitalVince607

Hey everyone, need some input. I'm obsessed with the mixed berry gummies from my current brand - they're sweet but not too artificial tasting. But the citrus ones? Ugh, they taste like cleaning products to me. What's the consensus on the 'best' flavor out there? I'm restocking soon and want to branch out, but don't want to waste money on another dud. For reference, I'm keto so I check sugar content religiously - berry ones have 1g net carbs per serving which works for me.

Vince, I feel you on the citrus hate - some brands use that fake lemon-lime flavor that's just awful. As a paleo guy, I look for natural ingredients first. Have you tried the tropical blend? Mine has pineapple, mango, and passionfruit flavors. No artificial colors and sweetened with monk fruit. It's a bit tangy but way better than straight citrus. Plus, the ingredients list reads like actual food, which fits my diet philosophy.

Oh dear, I'm glad my grandchildren aren't the only ones picky about flavors! My little Emma loves the berry ones too, but refuses anything orange or lemon. Have you considered the cherry pomegranate? It's what I give the kids - no high-fructose corn syrup and they use vegetable-based colors. Much gentler on sensitive tummies than citrus. Just make sure whatever you choose doesn't have those artificial sweeteners, they can cause digestive issues according to my naturopath.

Thanks both! Zack, that tropical blend sounds interesting - monk fruit is keto-friendly if they keep the erythritol low. Holly, cherry pomegranate could work too. Do either of you know if these come in sugar-free versions? I'm seeing mixed reviews online about aftertastes with some sugar substitutes. Maybe I'll get a small bottle of each to test. Anyone tried the new 'forest fruits' flavor that just launched? Marketing says it's blueberry/raspberry/blackcurrant.

The tropical one I use does have a sugar-free option with stevia - slight aftertaste but not bad once you're used to it. Haven't tried forest fruits yet, but blackcurrant can be strong. If you hated citrus, maybe avoid anything too tart? Pro tip: some health stores sell single-serving sample packs. Might save you from buying a whole jar you hate. Let us know what you go with!
