THREAD: My gummies look weird - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I opened my bottle of gummy vitamins this morning and they look totally different. Some have turned a darker color (like from bright orange to kinda brownish), and they're all sticking together in one big clump. A few feel really hard too, not soft like they used to be. Are these still safe to take? I don't wanna waste them if they're fine, but also don't want to get sick. Has this happened to anyone else?

lol OP, sounds like my coffee when I leave it out too long. But seriously, I've had this happen with my caffeine gummies before. If they're sticking together and changing color, it's probably just sugar bloom or moisture issues. They're PROBABLY safe, but honestly I'd just toss 'em and get a fresh bottle. Not worth the risk when you can grab more with your next coffee run. Also, check the expiration date!

Oh wow, this is actually a common issue with gummy supplements! The color change could be oxidation, and the hardening/sticking is usually due to improper storage (moisture or temperature fluctuations). While they might not be harmful, the nutrient integrity could be compromised. I always store mine in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Personally, I'd recommend replacing them to ensure you're getting the full benefits. Your health is worth it! 🌿

Bro, I go through gummies like crazy for my workouts. Seen this a few times. If they're just sticky/hard, they're probably fine - might just taste weird. But if they're changing COLOR significantly, that's a red flag. Could be mold or something growing. I'd say when in doubt, throw it out. Not worth messing with your gains over a $20 bottle of vitamins. Hit up the store and grab a fresh one.

Early adopter here - been using gummy supplements since they first hit the market. This is classic degradation. The sticking together is sugar crystallization, color change is oxidation. They won't kill you, but the potency drops dramatically. I learned this the hard way with the first-gen gummies back in '08. Toss them and contact the manufacturer - sometimes they'll send a replacement if it's a known batch issue.
