THREAD: Can I take collagen gummies with my morning coffee? Safety check!Started by LunarLily

Hey everyone! I've been taking these collagen gummies for about a month now for my skin and joints (I'm new to this whole supplement thing, usually just meditate!). I usually take them first thing in the morning with my big cup of coffee. Is that okay? I read somewhere that caffeine might interfere with absorption? Should I space them out? Thanks for any advice!

OP, good question. Biohacker here - I've been stacking collagen with various nootropics for years. Coffee's acidity might slightly reduce collagen peptide absorption in the gut, but the effect is minimal if you're taking quality gummies. I'd recommend taking them 30 mins before coffee for optimal results. Also, check if your collagen has vitamin C - it enhances synthesis. I combine mine with a hyaluronic acid gummy and track biomarkers monthly. #OptimizeEverything

Retired nurse here, 40 years experience. LunarLily, generally safe to take with coffee, but listen to your body. I've seen patients have mild stomach upset combining supplements with caffeine on empty stomach. Try taking gummies with a small snack instead. MountainMike's timing advice is good - spacing never hurts. Remember, gummies often have added sugars too. Check your labels and consult your doctor if you have kidney issues or take blood thinners. Stay hydrated!

Thanks both! MountainMike, wow that's detailed - I don't track biomarkers but maybe I should start meditating on my supplement routine lol. WaterWillow, good point about the snack - I'll try with my oatmeal instead. Labels say 2g sugar per gummy and has vit C. Appreciate the help! Might try the 30-min gap and see if I notice any difference in my yoga flexibility.
