THREAD: Looking for collagen gummy recommendations - gift for aging parent or fitness friend?Started by OrangeOscar915

Hey all, need some advice. My mom's turning 70 next month and I want to get her something health-focused but easy to use. She's not great with pills. Also considering my buddy who's always at the gym - he might appreciate these too. Looking at collagen gummies specifically. What brands actually work? Don't want anything with tons of additives or sugar. Simple is best.

Oh this takes me back! I remember when collagen supplements were just powders that tasted like chalk. The gummy revolution has been a game-changer for us nostalgic supplement-takers! For your mom, I'd recommend Vital Proteins Collagen Gummies - they have a nice orange flavor that reminds me of those old-school candy oranges. For your fitness friend, Sports Research Collagen Peptides Gummies have a bit more protein boost. Just check the labels - some have more sugar than others (but hey, that's part of the fun!).

As someone who experiments in the kitchen, I've tried dissolving various collagen gummies in recipes! For gifting though, I'd suggest looking at multi-packs. Ancient Nutrition has a collagen bundle with different flavors - great for someone who might get bored with one type. Pro tip: if you get the citrus ones, they actually make a decent glaze for chicken if you melt them down (weird, I know!). But seriously, the texture matters - some brands get too sticky in heat.

Thanks both. @GummyGuru491 - the Vital Proteins ones look clean ingredient-wise. @PeakPaula813 - not sure my mom would cook with them but the variety pack idea is smart. Anyone tried the Costco brand? Trying to balance quality with not breaking the bank.

The Kirkland ones from Costco are surprisingly decent! They remind me of the fruit snacks we had as kids, just with collagen. Not as potent as some premium brands, but for daily maintenance they're fine. If you want to splurge for your fitness friend, the Primal Kitchen ones have that 'artisanal' vibe everyone's into now. Remember when supplements came in boring white bottles? We've come so far!
