THREAD: Creatine Gummies: Are we just eating candy now?Started by CrystalCathy545

Ugh, just saw a new creatine gummy ad and it has like 8g of sugar per serving! What's the point of a supplement if it's loaded with junk? I get that people want convenience, but this feels like we're prioritizing taste over health. Thoughts?

I feel you, Cathy! I tried making my own creatine gummies at home last month - just gelatin, creatine monohydrate, and a tiny bit of stevia. They tasted... functional lol, but at least I knew exactly what was in them. The store-bought ones are basically candy with a sprinkle of creatine. Convenience is nice, but not at the cost of purity!

Totally agree with both of you. I've been mixing creatine powder into my morning smoothie for years - zero sugar, full control. These gummies seem like a cash grab targeting people who hate the texture of powder. But hey, if it gets someone to actually take their creatine consistently, maybe it's worth the trade-off? Though that sugar content is rough...

Noah, I see your point about consistency, but there are sugar-free options! Some brands use sugar alcohols or natural sweeteners. The candy-fication worries me because it normalizes sugary supplements, especially for kids/families. We should demand better from these companies - convenience doesn't have to mean compromising on ingredients!

Cathy's right - we can have both! My homemade version proves it's possible. Maybe companies are just taking the easy (cheap) route with sugar. For anyone interested, I can share my recipe - it's super simple and you can adjust sweetness to your preference. DIY isn't for everyone, but it's worth considering if you're concerned about additives!
