Creatine Gummies = Sugar Bombs?! Can we stop candy-fying supplements?

Okay, I'm all for convenience, but I just looked at the label of these creatine gummies I bought and it's basically candy. 4g of sugar per gummy and you need like 5 for a dose? That's 20g of sugar just to get 5g of creatine. I might as well eat a Snickers and call it a day. I'm a busy professional, I don't have time to measure powder, but this seems counterproductive. Am I overreacting?

Not overreacting at all. The sugar spike alone can blunt the benefits of creatine for recovery and performance. I stick to micronized creatine monohydrate powder. Mix it in my morning coffee or shake. Zero sugar, cheap, and effective. Gummies are a gimmick for people who can't handle a scoop. Biohack your stack, don't candy it.

I make my own gummies with gelatin and stevia. Way cheaper and I control the ingredients. But honestly, if you're that busy, just get creatine capsules. No sugar, no taste, swallow and go. Gummies are for kids. And why is everyone so afraid of a little sugar? If it fits your macros, who cares. But 20g is a lot for a supplement.

Med student here. The sugar content is definitely a concern, especially if you're taking multiple gummies daily. That can add up to significant empty calories and potential insulin spikes. However, convenience is a real factor for adherence. If gummies help you take creatine consistently, the benefits might outweigh the sugar for some. But ideally, look for low-sugar or sugar-free gummy options. Or just man up and use powder. Your teeth will thank you.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll switch to capsules or just suck it up and do powder. The sugar crash after my morning gummies is real. And yeah, the candy-fication is out of control. Next thing you know, they'll be selling protein gummy bears. Oh wait, they already do.
