THREAD: Can I take my fiber gummies with my morning coffee? Safety concerns?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I've been taking fiber gummies for about a month now to help with digestion. I usually take them with my morning coffee because it's just convenient. But my friend said mixing supplements with coffee might reduce absorption or cause issues. Has anyone else done this? Is it safe/effective to combine them?

Good question OP. Caffeine in coffee can act as a mild diuretic, which might affect how your body absorbs water-soluble fibers like inulin or psyllium (common in fiber gummies). While not dangerous, it could slightly reduce effectiveness. I'd recommend taking them with a full glass of water 30 mins before or after coffee for optimal hydration and absorption. Check your gummy label for specific fiber types—some bind with minerals, but coffee shouldn't cause harmful interactions.

I've stacked fiber gummies with pre-workout (which has caffeine) for years, no issues here! Key is timing and dosage. If you're taking them for gut health or regularity, consistency matters more than perfect timing. Just don't overdo it—stick to the recommended serving. Coffee might make you pee more, so drink extra water to help the fiber work. Personally, I take mine post-workout with a protein shake, but morning with coffee should be fine if you're hydrated.

LOL this reminds me of the 90s when my grandma would take her fiber powder with prune juice and complain about the taste! Gummies are a game-changer. I take mine with my morning tea (similar to coffee) and haven't had problems, but I'm not a scientist like HealthHacker. Maybe try it for a week with coffee and a week without, see if you notice a difference? Old-school advice: listen to your body—if you feel bloated or off, adjust. Also, love that we're discussing this instead of just choking down chalky supplements!
