THREAD: My fiber gummies look weird - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I've been taking these fiber gummies for a few months now, and I just opened a new bottle. They look... off. Some of them have changed color (like they're getting darker spots), and a few feel really hard and stuck together. I'm worried they might have gone bad. Are they still safe to take, or should I toss them? Thanks in advance!

Oh dear, I've seen this before with my grandkids' vitamins! It's usually sugar bloom or moisture issues. If they're hard and stuck, they might have absorbed humidity. I always store mine in a cool, dry place. Personally, I wouldn't risk it—especially if they're for my family. Better safe than sorry, sweetie! Maybe check the expiration date too?

Ugh, that's annoying. I've had gummies get weird on me before when I left them in my car on a hot day. If they're just discolored or sticky, they're probably fine chemically, but texture might be gross. I'd say if they smell okay and aren't moldy, they're likely safe, but maybe not pleasant. I'd still take mine if I was in a pinch and needed the fiber, but I get being cautious.

From a medical perspective, color/texture changes in gummies are often due to environmental factors like temperature fluctuations or moisture exposure, not necessarily spoilage. Hardening can be from sugar crystallization (sugar bloom), and sticking is common with humidity. Unless there's visible mold or an off smell, they're probably safe to consume, but potency might degrade over time. Check the storage instructions on the bottle—improper storage could accelerate this. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer for specifics!
