THREAD: Saw a study about ashwagandha in GOLI gummies - legit research or biased hype?Started by XenonX445

Hey everyone, just came across this study (PMID: 12345678) about ashwagandha reducing cortisol and improving sleep. It was funded by a supplement company though. GOLI has it in their sleep gummies. What do you all think - solid science or just marketing fluff? I'm skeptical but curious since I'm on keto and stress management is huge for me.

OP, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Most supplement studies are tiny, short-term, and funded by the industry. If you want better sleep, just stick to basics: dark room, consistent bedtime, no screens before bed. Adding another gummy to your routine is just more clutter. Save your money.

Ashwagandha is plant-based so that's a plus! But I agree with Tom about funding bias. Have you checked if the study was peer-reviewed? Also, GOLI uses pectin instead of gelatin so their gummies are vegan-friendly which I appreciate. Maybe look for independent research or try a small batch to see if it works for you personally?

omg i actually take these gummies! not regularly but when i remember lol. they do help me feel calmer during my meditation sessions, but idk if it's placebo or real. the study sounds promising tho? maybe combine with deep breathing exercises instead of relying only on supplements? just my two cents!

Thanks all. Tom - you're probably right about simplicity, but keto already restricts so much that sometimes a supplement feels like a cheat code. Mia - good call on checking peer-review, I'll look into that. Lily - placebo or not, if it helps your meditation that's something! Might give them a try for a month and track my sleep data.
