Hey everyone, just saw this article and thought it was important to share here. # UK Regulator Warns of Melatonin in Children’s Gummies A recent warning from the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) highlights a critical issue for parents who rely on d... Basically, they're saying some kids' gummy vitamins might have melatonin in them without proper labeling, which can be dangerous for children. What do you all think? Are you checking your kids' gummies more carefully now?

Whoa, that's scary! I've been giving my little brother some cheap gummy vitamins from the discount store cuz they're like half the price of the name brands. Now I'm paranoid they might have something weird in them. Gonna check the ingredients tonight. Anyone know if there's a way to test for melatonin at home without spending a fortune? Student budget here lol

Not surprised at all. I've been saying for years that the supplement industry needs better regulation. I switched to a small-batch, organic brand for my kids last year after reading about similar issues in the US. They're more expensive, but at least I know exactly what's in them. The article mentions unlabeled ingredients - this is why transparency matters people!

This is exactly why I advocate for sugar-free options! Many of those melatonin-laced gummies are loaded with sugar AND hidden ingredients. Parents think they're just getting vitamins, but it's a cocktail of who-knows-what. I make my own gummies at home with gelatin and fruit puree - no surprises, no melatonin, and I control the sweetness. Takes 20 minutes and costs less than store-bought!

Interesting timing! I was just experimenting with homemade vitamin gummy recipes this weekend. Used pectin instead of gelatin for a vegan option. The article makes me wonder - if regulators are finding melatonin in commercial products, what ELSE might be in there unlabeled? Maybe we should start a thread sharing tested DIY recipes. I've got a decent vitamin C gummy recipe that my nieces love.
