THREAD: Anyone else having weird side effects from liquid vitamins?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I started taking a liquid multivitamin about two weeks ago (the berry-flavored kind from the health store). Everything's been fine except... I've been having the most VIVID dreams lately. Like, full-color, detailed adventures every night. Not nightmares, just super intense. My partner says I've been talking in my sleep too. Has anyone else experienced this with liquid vitamins? Is it normal or should I be worried?

Oh honey, I've heard about this! My sister had something similar when she tried those gummy vitamins last year - she said her dreams got "too real" and she woke up exhausted. I'm always skeptical about these supplements because you never know what's really in them. Have you checked the ingredients list? Could be some herbal additive you're reacting to. Maybe switch to a different brand or just eat more fruits/veggies instead? My kids get all their vitamins from real food and they sleep just fine.

OMG yes!! I make my own liquid vitamin blends at home (I juice organic greens and add powdered supplements) and I TOTALLY get the vivid dream thing! I think it's the B vitamins - they're known to affect REM sleep. When I increased my B-complex dose last month, I dreamed I was a squirrel collecting acorns for three nights straight 😂 It's harmless though! If you're DIY-inclined, you could try adjusting your formula. Maybe reduce the B vitamins slightly and see if it helps?

As a paleo follower, I avoid most processed supplements, but when I do take liquid vitamins during flu season, I notice my urine gets neon yellow. That's just excess B2 (riboflavin) leaving your body - completely normal. The dream thing might be related to B6 or magnesium if your formula has those. Our ancestors didn't need supplements because they ate nose-to-tail nutrition. Maybe your body's just adjusting to concentrated nutrients. If it bothers you, try taking it in the morning instead of before bed?
