Hey all! My gummy vitamins just arrived and I noticed they're a bit harder than usual and have a weird white coating. Also, some are stuck together. Is this normal? Are they still safe to eat? I'm nervous about taking them.

Hey OP! Sounds like sugar bloom to me - happens when moisture gets to them. Totally normal and safe, just means they've been exposed to a bit of humidity. Hard texture is common too. I'd pop 'em in the fridge for an hour to firm them up, but they're fine to eat. Trust your gut though - if they smell off or have mold, toss 'em.

Second what EcoEllen said. Sugar bloom is cosmetic, not a safety issue. I've had this happen with my gummies and they were still effective. Just store them in a cool, dry place, maybe with a silica packet. If you're really worried, you can return them, but I'd say go ahead and take them.

Biochemically speaking, sugar bloom is just recrystallization of sugar on the surface - harmless. Texture changes can happen from temp fluctuations during shipping. As long as they haven't melted and refrozen (which could mess with ingredients), they're likely fine. Check for any signs of microbial growth like dark spots or weird smell. If all good, enjoy!

Thanks guys! I think I'll give them a try. They don't smell bad, just hard. Appreciate the quick responses!🙌
