THREAD: My gummy vitamins look weird - are they still safe to take?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I've been taking these gummy multivitamins for a few months, but I just opened a new bottle and they look... off. Some have turned a darker color (like from bright orange to kinda brownish), and they're all sticking together in one big clump. A few feel harder than usual too. Are these still safe to eat? I don't want to waste them if they're fine, but also don't want to risk getting sick. Has anyone else had this happen?

Oh I've totally seen this with my homemade gummies! When I make them at home, sticking together usually means they got too warm or humid. The color change could be oxidation - like when fruit turns brown. For store-bought ones, it's probably not dangerous, just not as fresh. I'd try breaking them apart gently and see if they smell normal. If they smell weird or have mold (rare but possible), toss them. Otherwise, they're probably fine but might taste stale. I always store mine in a cool, dry place now!

Interesting! I've noticed something similar with my gummies after I left them in my car on a hot day while hiking. They got all melty and stuck together, and the colors faded a bit. I took a photo because it looked kinda artistic with the swirls of color lol. But seriously, I ate them anyway and was fine - just tasted a bit weird. If they're not expired and you don't see actual mold, it's probably just sugar bloom or moisture issues. Nature does weird things to supplements sometimes!

Ugh, this happens to me ALL the time with my gummy vitamins! I'm so busy with work that I often forget them in my bag or leave them on my desk. The heat from my laptop probably doesn't help. They get hard and stick together constantly. I usually just eat them anyway because I need the vitamins and don't have time to buy new ones. Never had any issues health-wise, but they do get less pleasant to chew. Maybe try keeping them in the fridge? That's what I do now when I remember.
