THREAD: Traveling with gummy vitamins - do they melt? TSA rules?Started by OrganicOlivia

Hey everyone! I'm planning a big family trip next month - we're doing a road trip to a national park with some hiking days, plus a short flight. I always pack my kids' gummy vitamins (multivitamin, vitamin D, and probiotics) but I'm worried about them melting in the car or getting confiscated at TSA. Has anyone traveled with these? Do they turn into a sticky mess in heat? And what are the rules for carrying them on planes? Thanks!

Olivia, I feel you! When I was doing keto on a road trip last summer, my sugar-free gummy electrolytes MELTED into one giant blob in the glove compartment. Total waste. My advice: NEVER leave them in a hot car. Put them in a cooler or insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. For flights, TSA doesn't care about vitamins - they're not liquids. I just throw mine in my carry-on in their original bottle. But if you're worried, get travel-sized containers from the health store.

Biohacking pro-tip: Temperature stability matters for nutrient integrity. Most gummies start degrading above 75°F. For hiking, use a vacuum-insulated container (like for coffee) - keeps them stable for hours. TSA-wise, I've flown with 20+ supplement bottles including gummies, no issues. But if you have CBD or nootropic gummies, that's a different story - check local laws. Also, consider switching to powdered travel packs for trips - more stable, less mess.

lol I learned this the hard way on a meditation retreat road trip! My stress-relief gummies with ashwagandha fused together in the console. Now I always: 1) Keep them in the AC part of the car, 2) Use those little silica gel packets in the bottle (absorbs moisture), 3) For planes, I put them in clear ziplocks just in case TSA wants to check. But yeah, they've never stopped me. Maybe meditate on letting go if they do melt? Just kidding... sorta.
