So I started taking these magnesium glycinate gummies about a week ago (2 gummies before bed) to help with sleep. And holy crap, my dreams have been INSANE. Like, vivid, movie-level plots, sometimes kinda weird but not scary. Last night I dreamed I was a detective solving a crime in a giant gummy bear factory lol. Woke up feeling actually rested though. Is this a thing? Anyone else get this from magnesium gummies? Plz tell me I'm not alone.

Hey OP, med student here. Yeah, it's a known thing! Magnesium plays a role in REM sleep regulation and neurotransmitter function. Glycinate is especially well-absorbed and can increase GABA, which might enhance dream recall/vividness. Not dangerous, but if it bothers you, try lowering the dose or switching to magnesium citrate. Also, check if your gummies have added B6 – that can also affect dreams. But yeah, you're not crazy.

Dude I thought I was the only one! I take magnesium after my evening WOD and I've been having these epic dreams where I'm lifting cars and running marathons. Sometimes I wake up feeling like I already worked out lol. But it's cool. I just make sure not to take it too close to bedtime if I have an early class. How many mg are you taking? Maybe adjust timing.

Interesting. I'm on keto and take magnesium citrate for electrolytes, never noticed vivid dreams. But I did notice my taste buds changed – everything tastes sweeter now? Could be the magnesium or just keto. Anyway, if the dreams are too much, maybe try a different form. Glycinate is known for relaxation, but citrate might be milder for sleep. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly, most of these 'side effects' are just placebo or coincidence. Unless you're taking mega-doses, magnesium isn't going to turn you into Inception. But hey, if you're sleeping better, who cares? Just don't expect it to be a magic dream pill. Also, check the label – some gummies have melatonin or other stuff sneaked in. That's more likely the culprit.
