My Kid Thinks My Magnesium Gummies Are Candy! Help!
Okay, so I bought a bottle of those new magnesium gummies for my own sleep. Big mistake. I left them on the counter for five minutes and my 4-year-old found them. He's been begging for 'candy' all day! I had to hide them in the back of the pantry. Any tips for keeping them out of reach? Or should I just switch to pills? 😅
Oh I totally get this! I'm a yoga instructor and I have to be careful too. I put mine in a high cabinet in a different room, and I tell my grandkids they're 'grown-up vitamins'. But honestly, the taste is so good it's like candy. Maybe get the ones with a stronger texture? Or just be super vigilant. I've also heard of people storing them in a locked box. Good luck! 🍀
haha story of my life. I have a 7yo and a 9yo. They know what they are, but they still try to sneak them. I use a 'gummy jar' that's actually a secure supplement container with a child-proof cap. It helps. Also, I try to take them when the kids are in bed or at school. But yeah, those gummies are dangerously tasty. I've considered switching to the capsules but I like the taste too lol.
I'm skeptical of gummy supplements in general. They often have added sugar and the dosages can be inconsistent. Plus, this is a perfect example of why they're dangerous for kids. I'd recommend using a different form entirely. Or if you must, get a lockbox. But honestly, just take the pills and avoid the drama. My 2 cents.
I'm an early adopter, I've been on the gummy train for years. I have a 3yo and a 5yo. I actually use a 'supplement safe' that's like a mini safe with a combo lock. It's worth the investment. Also, I make sure to take them in the morning when we're all in the kitchen, so they see me take it, but they know it's not for them. Consistency is key. And hey, at least they're not eating my chocolate stash! 😜
