THREAD: Can I take melatonin gummies with my morning coffee? Asking for a friend...Started by HubermanHopeful166

Hey all, random question but I'm curious. I've been using these berry-flavored melatonin gummies to help me wind down at night (they taste amazing btw, like actual candy). But sometimes I have an early morning and need coffee ASAP. Has anyone tried taking melatonin gummies WITH coffee? Like, popping one and sipping coffee right after? Is that safe or does it cancel each other out? I don't wanna mess up my sleep schedule or get jittery.

Honestly, mixing supplements like that sounds like a bad idea. I'm paleo and try to keep things natural—melatonin is a hormone, and coffee is a stimulant. They're literally opposites! Your body might get confused. I'd stick to one at a time, maybe melatonin at night and coffee in the AM. Also, check the gummy ingredients; a lot have artificial stuff that doesn't fit a clean diet.

LOL, this reminds me of the 90s when people would mix all sorts of weird stuff for 'energy' or sleep. Back then, we just drank chamomile tea! But seriously, I've heard caffeine can interfere with melatonin absorption. Maybe space them out by a few hours? I take my gummies around 9 PM and have my last coffee by 3 PM. Works for me, and the gummies taste like those old-school fruit snacks I loved as a kid!

As a night shift worker, I feel this! I use melatonin gummies to help me sleep during the day after my shift. Coffee is a must for staying awake at work. I don't take them together—usually have coffee at the start of my shift and melatonin when I get home. Mixing them might make you drowsy when you need to be alert or wired when you should sleep. Not worth the risk, IMO.
