THREAD: Can I take melatonin gummies with my morning coffee? Need advice!Started by YogurtYuri124

Hey everyone, desperate parent here. I've been using melatonin gummies to help me sleep after my 2-year-old's 3am wake-ups, but I'm also a zombie in the morning and need my coffee. Is it safe to take melatonin at night and then have coffee in the AM? Or should I space them out more? Worried about interactions but I need both to function 😴☕

YogurtYuri124, I feel you! As a granola parent, I'd say listen to your body. Melatonin is natural, but mixing it with caffeine might mess with your circadian rhythm. Have you tried herbal tea instead of coffee? Or maybe a B12 gummy in the AM for energy? I give my kids a multivitamin gummy with breakfast, but I keep melatonin strictly for bedtime routines. Maybe try cutting coffee after noon?

Bro, CrossFit here. I take melatonin gummies post-workout sometimes to help recovery sleep. Coffee is my pre-workout fuel. From my experience, no issues if you time it right—melatonin at night, coffee at least 8 hours apart. But check with a doc if you're stacking other supplements. I once mixed melatonin with a pre-workout gummy and felt jittery. Not recommended. Stick to clean timing!

Thanks both! VibeVitamins872, I love the herbal tea idea—might swap my afternoon coffee for that. VeggieVictor306, good point on timing, I'll keep my melatonin at 9pm and coffee at 6am. Anyone else tried this combo? Appreciate the help, sleep-deprived brains need all the advice we can get!
