THREAD: Found melatonin gummies on sale at Costco - too good to be true or legit deal?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I was at Costco yesterday and saw their Kirkland melatonin gummies on sale for like half the price of the brand-name ones at my local pharmacy. Has anyone tried these? Is the lower price a red flag for lower quality, or is this just a steal? I'm tempted to stock up but don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work.

As a retired nurse, I always check the labels carefully. Lower price doesn't necessarily mean lower quality - sometimes store brands use the same manufacturers as name brands. Look at the active ingredient (melatonin) dosage per gummy and the inactive ingredients list. Costco's Kirkland brand is generally reputable. If the dosage matches what you need and there aren't unnecessary additives, it's probably fine. I've used them myself and found them effective for occasional sleep issues.

omg as a sleep-deprived parent, I LIVE for these sales! I've tried the Costco ones, Target's Up&Up brand, and CVS's version when they're on sale. Honestly, they all work about the same for me - just helps me wind down. The main difference I notice is sometimes the texture or taste varies. If you're sensitive to artificial sweeteners or colors, check the label like CitrusClaire said. But for me? Total steal, I buy in bulk when they're discounted!

Friends, while price can reflect quality, it's more about sourcing and intention. Many commercial melatonin products use synthetic versions. As a holistic healer, I recommend checking if they use natural sources and minimal processing. Sometimes cheaper brands add more fillers. That said, if the Costco version aligns with your body's needs and you feel good about it intuitively, it could be a great find. Perhaps try a small container first before stocking up?

Skeptical mom here - I'm always wary of supplements, especially for my family. I looked into this before! Consumer reports have shown that melatonin dosage in gummies can be inconsistent, even within the same bottle, regardless of brand. The price might be lower because of simpler packaging or bulk manufacturing, not necessarily worse quality. But I'd still be cautious - maybe check online reviews specific to the Costco brand, and start with a low dose to see how you react.
