Hey all, I was googling around for sleep aids and found this study (PMID: 12345678) about melatonin gummies. Basically says they help with sleep onset but the effect is small. I'm kinda new to all this, but it seems like it might be legit? Or is it just funded by the gummy companies? Link: [fake link]. What do you guys think?

Lol, I've tried like 5 different brands of melatonin gummies. The only thing they help with is my sweet tooth. Half of them taste like candy and probably have more sugar than melatonin. That study might be legit but I wouldn't trust any gummy that tastes like a Starburst. Just my 2 cents.

I'm a marathon runner and I use melatonin occasionally for jet lag or after late races. Gummies are convenient but I've found the dosage can be all over the place. That study you posted – did they test actual gummies or just melatonin in general? Because if it's gummies, the absorption might be different. Also, who funded it? Always check for conflicts of interest.

Thanks for the replies! The study says it was funded by a supplement trade association, which makes me suspicious. But they did use actual gummies. I guess I'll stick to tablets or just try a low dose. Appreciate the input!

Yeah, trade association funding = big red flag. But hey, if you find a gummy that actually works and tastes good, let me know. I'm still searching for one that doesn't give me a sugar crash at 3am.
