My kid ate 3 melatonin gummies cause they look like candy!
Okay, so I keep the melatonin gummies in the pantry, thinking they're safe. But my 6-year-old found them and thought they were gummy bears. Ate three before I noticed! He was out like a light 20 mins later, but now I'm worried. Anyone else had this? How do you keep them out of reach?
Oh man, that's a classic. My wife did that once with my melatonin gummies, thought they were sour gummy worms. She took a nap at 2pm. As for keeping them safe, we now keep ALL supplements in a locked cabinet. Learned that lesson the hard way. 😅
Honestly, they do taste just like candy! That's why I love them. But for kids, yeah, keep them way up high or locked. Maybe get a child-resistant bottle? Also, you might consider a different form for the kids—like a sleep tea or something that doesn't look like food.
I feel you. My kid did the same, but with omega-3 gummies. But hey, at least it's just melatonin. No real harm. But for real, invest in a lockbox or keep them in a drawer with a child safety lock. Also, I'd talk to the pediatrician if you're worried about dosage. But 3 is probably fine—just extra sleepy.
