Traveling with Gummy Vitamins: Do They Melt? Any TSA issues?
Hey everyone! Heading out on a week-long road trip and then a hike. I want to bring my multivitamin gummies but I'm worried they'll melt in the car or in my backpack. Any tips? Also, any issues with TSA if I fly? First time flying with them.
I've taken gummies on plenty of flights. They're fine in carry-on, just keep them in the original container or a clear baggie. They might get squished but they won't melt unless you leave them in direct heat. For road trips, keep them in a cooler or just out of the sun. I once left them in the glovebox and they got a little soft but still usable.
Travel with kids? I always bring extra! But yeah, they can get melty. I put them in a small insulated bag with an ice pack if it's hot. TSA doesn't care, but they might inspect them. Just be patient. Also, if you're hiking, try to keep them in a pocket close to your body, they'll stay at body temp and not melt. LOL.
From a holistic standpoint, heat can degrade the nutrients. I recommend placing them in a cool, dry place, maybe wrap them in a damp cloth in a container. On a plane, the cargo hold is cold, but carry-on is fine. If you're concerned, you could also just buy a small travel-sized container. Safe travels!
Thanks everyone! Great advice. I'll keep them in my backpack away from sun, and if I fly, I'll put them in a clear bag. Appreciate it!
