THREAD: Is anyone else bothered by how sugary NAC gummies are getting?Started by WaterWillow796

Hey everyone, I've been taking NAC for a while now for immune support, but I just picked up a new bottle and it tastes like straight-up candy. I get that gummies are convenient, but do we really need 5g of sugar per serving? Feels like we're turning supplements into junk food. Back in my day, we just took capsules and dealt with the taste if needed. Am I the only one who thinks this 'candy-fication' is getting out of hand?

Totally feel you, WaterWillow! I started my blog back when gummies were just emerging, and even then I warned about the sugar creep. But honestly, for some people (like kids or those who struggle with pills), the convenience is a game-changer. I'd say look for brands with no added sugar or stevia-sweetened options. Still, I miss when supplements felt more like... well, supplements, not dessert.

As someone who fasts intermittently, sugar in supplements is a hard no for me. It can spike insulin and break a fast. I stick to pure NAC powder or capsules—no fillers, no sweeteners. Yeah, it tastes like sulfur, but that's how you know it's real! If you're serious about health, skip the gummy hype.

I make my own NAC blends at home! It's easier than you think—just get the powder, mix with a little honey or maple syrup if you want sweetness, and pour into silicone molds. You control everything: no weird additives, and you can adjust the sugar. Plus, it's fun and way cheaper. I've got a recipe on my blog if anyone's interested. Why buy overpriced candy when you can DIY?
