My kid thought NAC gummies were candy and ate a whole bottle!

So my 4yo just found my NAC gummies (I keep them on the counter, big mistake). I turned around for 2 minutes and he had eaten like 10 of them! I panicked, called poison control, and they said he's fine but watch for tummy ache and diarrhea. He's now bouncing off the walls, so I think he's okay, but it was scary! Anyone else have a supplement scavenger?

Whoa, glad he's okay! That's a classic. I always keep my gummies in a high cabinet or even the fridge so the kids can't reach them. But also, NAC can be strong for little ones. Might be a good reminder to treat them like medicine. Hope he doesn't have a stomach ache later! Also, have you tried the sugar-free kind? They look less like candy, maybe?

Haha, kids are like little ninjas! My spouse did the same thing with my melatonin gummies - ate a handful thinking they were fruit snacks. Now I only buy the ones that taste bad, lol. But seriously, keep those in a locked cabinet if you can. And maybe switch to capsules? Not as fun, but safer.

Oh man, I can relate! My dog once got into a bag of my elderberry gummies and I freaked out. Vet said he'd be fine but to watch for diarrhea. He was fine, just had the runs. But kids are even more sneaky. I'm a nature photographer, so I always keep my supplements in my camera bag now, unmarked. My girlfriend nearly took my NAC thinking it was a snack. Anyway, glad he's all good! Maybe keep them out of sight and remind him they're special medicine. Hope he doesn't get the rumbly tummy!
