yo so i started NAC (600mg twice a day) for lung support and antioxidant stuff, and damn my dreams have been INSANE. like last night i dreamt i was running a crossfit box on the moon and my barbell was made of jelly. woke up sweating lmao. its not bad just super weird. anyone else get this from NAC? or am i just losing it?

Bro thats the glutamate modulation. NAC helps clear glutamate and can affect dopamine too. When i was deep in keto i had crazy dreams from ketones but NAC did the same thing for like a week. It evens out. Just make sure ur taking it early in the day, not before bed. Also check ur not low on magnesium, that can make dreams wild too. Keto on!

OMG yes! I take NAC after crossfit for recovery and I've been having these super vivid dreams too. Mostly about WODs but sometimes weird stuff. I thought it was just the creatine but maybe its the NAC. How long have you been on it? For me it was worst the first 4-5 days then chilled out. Also are you taking it with food? I find that helps.

Interesting… I take NAC for respiratory support (I do a lot of hiking/photography in dusty areas) and I haven't noticed crazy dreams, but my taste buds have been off. Like coffee tastes metallic? Maybe it's related? I read that NAC can chelate heavy metals and that might affect taste temporarily. But vivid dreams are a known side effect for some. Maybe try lowering your dose? Or take it earlier. Also stay hydrated!

Thanks guys, glad im not alone lol. I'll try taking it in the morning instead of afternoon and see if that helps. Wendy, ive been on it about 2 weeks now, so maybe it'll settle. Yara, thats wild about the taste thing, hope your coffee goes back to normal soon. Appreciate the input!
