THREAD: NAC Gummies - Are we just eating candy now?Started by VitalVince910

Hey all, just tried some NAC gummies and I'm kinda shocked. The label says 4g of sugar per serving! I get that they're trying to make supplements more appealing, but aren't we just candy-fying health? I take NAC for lung support and antioxidant benefits, not for a sugar rush. What's the point if we're adding junk to something meant to be pure?

Totally agree Vince. I stick to powder or capsules for this exact reason. Gummies are loaded with fillers, sugars, and artificial stuff that defeats the purpose. NAC is supposed to support glutathione production and detox - why muddy it with sweeteners? Convenience is nice, but purity matters more for real benefits. Just mix the powder in water, it's not that hard.

4g sugar?! That's insane for anyone on keto or low-carb. I tried a gummy once and it spiked my blood sugar big time. NAC is great for liver health and reducing oxidative stress, but sugar does the opposite. If you're serious about health, skip the gummies and go for pure NAC capsules. No carbs, no junk. The candy trend in supplements is getting out of hand.

Thanks guys, glad I'm not overreacting. Noah, you're right about the powder - I used to do that but got lazy. Liam, good point on blood sugar, didn't even think about that. Maybe companies think people won't take supplements unless they taste like candy? But then we're just trading one problem for another. Back to basics for me.

Exactly. It's marketing over substance. They're targeting people who hate swallowing pills, but adding sugar and additives undermines NAC's purpose. If you need it sweetened, add a tiny bit of stevia to the powder yourself. Control what you consume. The minimalist approach always wins for efficacy.
