THREAD: Omega-3s and Healthy Fats: What's the Real Deal?Started by OP

Hey everyone, just saw this article and thought it was super relevant to our omega-3 discussions! It's called "What 'healthy fats' actually are — and how to choose the right ones for your diet". Basically, new dietary guidelines are still pushing for foundational stuff like protein and dairy, but they're really emphasizing those 'healthy fats' now. What do you all think? Are we getting enough omega-3s from our gummies, or should we be looking elsewhere too?

omg i've been trying to meditate more and my focus has been so off lately... maybe it's my diet? i take omega-3 gummies daily but idk if they're enough. the article sounds interesting tho! do they mention anything about brain health? i heard fats are good for that but i always get confused between omega-3s and other fats lol

As someone who avoids sugar at all costs, I'm wary of gummies in general—even vitamin ones. Many have hidden sugars or artificial sweeteners. If we're talking healthy fats, why not get them from whole foods like avocados or walnuts instead? Supplements should complement, not replace, real food. That article probably says similar, right?

Love this topic! As a wellness influencer, I always stress that not all fats are created equal. Omega-3s from sources like fish oil or algae in gummies can be great, but you gotta check the EPA/DHA ratios. The article likely highlights choosing unsaturated fats—key for heart health. OP, does it break down the types? I'd share this on my page if it's solid info!

Thanks for the thoughts! @GreenGreg567, yeah it talks about brain function too—fats help with cell membranes or something. @OrganicOlivia969, totally agree on whole foods, but for us busy folks, gummies are convenient. @QuantumQuincy645, it does mention unsaturated fats like omega-3s and omega-6s, and balancing them. Maybe we need a thread on best omega-3 gummy brands without junk ingredients?
