THREAD: Traveling with Omega-3 gummies - do they melt? TSA rules?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm heading on a trip next week - mix of flying and some road tripping/hiking. I take omega-3 gummies daily and don't want to skip them. Has anyone traveled with these before? Do they melt in heat? What about TSA rules for supplements? And any storage tips for keeping them fresh while on the go? Thanks!

Oh I've totally dealt with this! Last summer I drove cross-country and my gummies got all stuck together in the glovebox - total mess. What I do now: put them in a small airtight container (I reuse those mini jam jars) with a silica gel packet from shoe boxes to absorb moisture. For flights, TSA doesn't care about supplements in carry-ons as long as they're not liquid. But if you're checking bags, maybe wrap the container in a sock for insulation? Heat's the real enemy here.

TSA is fine with gummies - they're solid. Pro tip: get a small thermoelectric cooler bag from Amazon (like $25). I use one for my supplements when hiking. Keeps temp stable. Also, there's an app called 'MyTSA' that has updated rules. For flights, keep them in original packaging if possible to avoid questions. And NEVER leave them in a hot car - learned that the hard way when mine turned into a sticky blob after a hike.

Weekend warrior here - I take my omega-3 gummies on all my adventures! For hiking, I use a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack if it's really hot. On planes, I just throw the bottle in my carry-on, never had issues. Road trips: keep them in the cooler with drinks. They do get soft around 85°F+ so avoid direct sun. Oh and if they do get melty, pop them in the fridge at your hotel - they firm back up pretty quick!
