THREAD: Weird side effect from my omega-3 gummies - anyone else?Started by OP

Hey all, been taking these omega-3 gummies for about 2 weeks now (brand: SeaBreeze Naturals). They're great for my joints, but I've noticed something odd - my dreams have gotten SUPER vivid, like movie-level detail. Last night I dreamt I was baking a cake with talking fish, and it felt so real I woke up confused lol. It's not scary or anything, just... weird. Has anyone else experienced this with omega-3 supplements? Should I be concerned?

Hi OP, retired nurse here. Vivid dreams are actually a known but rare side effect of omega-3 supplements, especially with higher DHA content. It's generally harmless - DHA supports brain function and can affect REM sleep. Make sure you're taking the recommended dose and not on an empty stomach. If it becomes disruptive or you experience other symptoms like dizziness, consult your doctor. Otherwise, enjoy the free entertainment! 😄

omg yes!! I'm a digital nomad and take omega-3 gummies for focus while working remotely. I had the SAME thing happen when I switched brands last month. My dreams were so intense I started journaling them - got some wild travel inspiration from a dream about surfing in Norway! It faded after a few weeks though. Maybe your body's just adjusting? Also check if there's vitamin D in your blend - that can amplify it.

Amateur chef here - interesting! No dream issues for me, but I did notice my taste buds changed slightly after starting omega-3 gummies. Fish dishes taste more 'ocean-y' now (in a good way!). Back to your point: I read that omega-3 can affect neurotransmitters like serotonin, which might explain the vivid dreams. Maybe try taking them earlier in the day? Also, what's the dosage? My bottle says 500mg EPA/DHA per serving.
