THREAD: Are gummy vitamins just candy in disguise? Sugar content rant!Started by PeakPaula776

Okay, I gotta vent. I just checked the label on my 'adult' gummy vitamins and there's 4g of sugar per serving! That's like a mini candy bar. Aren't supplements supposed to be healthy? I feel like we're just candy-fying everything now. I'm trying to cut sugar for my weekend hikes, and this feels counterproductive. Anyone else bothered by this?

I get where you're coming from, Paula, but as someone who works 60-hour weeks, I'll take the sugar hit. Remembering to take pills is hard when you're juggling meetings. The gummies are the only thing I stick with consistently. Maybe not perfect, but better than no vitamins at all? Convenience wins for me.

As a foodie, I have to say - if they didn't taste good, I wouldn't take them! The sugar helps mask those vitaminy flavors. But I hear you about purity. Have you tried the new stevia-sweetened brands? They're pricier but lower sugar. Still tasty though! Maybe a compromise?

This is exactly why I stick to powders during my eating windows. Mix 'em in water, no sugar added, full control. Gummies break my fast anyway with those calories. But hey, if it gets people taking their vitamins, maybe it's not all bad? Just know what you're consuming.
