Need gift recs: health pack or gummies for aging parent & fitness freak friend?
Hey everyone! I'm looking for a good 'health pack' or specific gummies as a gift. One for my aging mom (she's 68 and needs joint support) and one for my best friend who's a total fitness nut (marathon runner like me). Any recommendations? I'm overwhelmed by all the options out there. Help a runner out!
For your mom, I'd go with a joint-focused gummy with glucosamine and chondroitin. My dad swears by the ones from Vitafusion. For your fitness friend, look for a pack with B12, magnesium, and maybe some adaptogens like ashwagandha for recovery. But honestly, whole foods are better... but if you gotta gift, gummies are convenient. Just check the sugar content!
I recently made my own gummy vitamins with gelatin and fruit juice! But for gifts, I'd recommend the SmartyPants brand. They have a 'mature' formula and a 'men's/women's' complete. My wife got me the men's one and it's decent. For a fitness person, maybe look for electrolyte gummies? Those are great for runners. Just my two cents as a chef who's into nutrition.
Thanks KaleKen and MountainMike! I'll check out Vitafusion and SmartyPants. Electrolyte gummies sound perfect for my friend. Any specific brand for those? Also, has anyone tried the 'health packs' from GNC or Amazon? Are they worth it?
For electrolyte gummies, I like the ones from SaltStick or Huma. They're not too sugary. As for health packs, I find them overpriced and often include stuff you don't need. Better to buy individual bottles. But if you want a pre-made pack, look for ones that are third-party tested. NSF or USP certified. Avoid proprietary blends. Good luck!
