THREAD: Are Prenatal Gummies Just Candy in Disguise? Sugar Content RantStarted by VibeVitamins42

Ugh, just looked at the label on my prenatal gummies and they have like 5g of sugar per serving! I'm trying to be healthy for the baby but this feels like I'm eating candy. Anyone else worried about the 'candy-fication' of supplements? I'm so tired (3am feedings...) that I need the convenience, but now I'm second-guessing.

lol i feel you on the tired part (caffeine is my lifeline). but honestly, if the gummies get you to actually take your vitamins consistently, isn't that worth it? i tried the pill form once and gagged every morning. sugar is a small trade-off for not puking up $40 vitamins.

This is exactly why I'm skeptical of all these trendy supplements. They're more about marketing than health. Real vitamins shouldn't need sugar coatings and cartoon shapes. Have you considered whole food sources or traditional pills? The gummy industry is just capitalizing on lazy consumers.

As a parent who avoids processed foods, I agree with Vince. We make our own nutrient-dense smoothies and use sublingual drops. Gummies often have artificial colors and fillers too. Convenience shouldn't compromise purity—your baby deserves clean nutrition. Maybe try a sugar-free brand or switch to capsules?

Thanks all... Quincy has a point about consistency (I'd forget pills constantly). Sam, do you have recs for sugar-free options? Vince, I get the skepticism but 'lazy' hurts when you're surviving on 4 hours of sleep 😅 Maybe there's a middle ground?
