THREAD: Can I take my prenatal gummies with my morning coffee? Worried about interactions!Started by OP

Hey everyone, first time posting here! I'm 12 weeks pregnant and just started taking these prenatal gummy vitamins (the ones with folate, DHA, etc.). I usually drink a cup of coffee in the morning right after taking them. Is that safe? I've heard caffeine can mess with nutrient absorption, but I really need that coffee to function lol. Anyone else do this?

Honestly, I'd be careful mixing anything synthetic with stimulants. When I was pregnant with my third, I stuck to whole foods and avoided gummies altogether—too much sugar and artificial stuff. Coffee on its own is questionable during pregnancy, let alone with supplements. Have you considered switching to a whole-food prenatal powder? Less processed, better absorption. Just my two cents as a mom who's been through it.

Nancy makes a point about processing, but if you're sticking with gummies, timing is key! Caffeine can interfere with iron absorption, which many prenatals include. Try spacing them out—take your gummy with breakfast, wait 30-60 mins, then have your coffee. Also, check your gummy's iron content; some use non-heme iron which is already poorly absorbed. For optimal wellness, pair with vitamin C (like a squeeze of lemon in water) to boost uptake! #WellnessHack

Dude, I crush pre-workout with my supplements all the time, but pregnancy is different lol. My wife took prenatal gummies during her last pregnancy and drank coffee—no issues, but she kept it to one cup. Just don't go overboard on caffeine (stick under 200mg). Maybe toss in some collagen peptides with your coffee for extra protein? Helps with fetal development and mom's joints. Stay strong!

As a parent running on 3 hours of sleep... I feel you on needing coffee! I took gummy prenatals with my second and drank coffee daily—my OB said it was fine as long as I took them with food. The gummies helped with my nausea too. Maybe ask your doctor to be safe? But anecdotally, I did it and baby turned out healthy (just as sleepless as me now, haha).
