My kid thinks these probiotic gummies are candy!

Okay, so I bought these probiotic gummies for my youngest because he has a sensitive stomach. The jar says 'gummies' and they're colorful, so of course my 5-year-old thinks they're candy. He keeps sneaking them when I turn my back! I've already had to hide them in a high cabinet. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips to get him to understand they're not candy?

Oh man, I feel you! My daughter did the same with her vitamin D gummies. I had to have a serious talk about 'special candy' only for her. But hey, at least it's a good way to sneak in probiotics! Just be careful, too many can upset their tummy. Maybe try a brand that's less candy-like? I use these organic ones that are kinda dull looking, lol.

Haha, brings back memories! I used to hide my Flintstones vitamins from my brother because he'd eat them like candy. But honestly, I think the texture is a giveaway - my kid refuses them because they're too chewy and sticky. He says they get stuck in his teeth. So we switched to a powder you mix in a drink. But for your sneaky one, maybe try a lockbox or a timer-based container? Or just tell him it's a special treat from the doctor, only one a day. Good luck!

I make my own gummies at home with real fruit juice and probiotics, and I have the opposite problem - my spouse eats a handful every time he walks by! I've started labeling the jar with a big 'NOT CANDY' and put it in the fridge where he doesn't look. But for kids, I'd suggest making a chart - reward them for not taking them without asking. Also, you could try a gummy that's less sweet? Or give them a 'candy' alternative like fruit snacks to satisfy the craving. Just a thought!
