Probiotic Gummies on sale at Costco – steal or sketchy?

Hey all, night shift worker here. I was at Costco today and saw a huge bottle of probiotic gummies (brand: VitaGlow) on sale for $12.99, normally $25.99. That's like half off. I'm tempted but also worried: does a lower price mean lower quality? Like, are the strains less potent or something? I need something to keep my gut happy during my weird hours. Anyone tried these? Is it a steal or should I run?

Ohh I remember when probiotics were just in those little yogurt drinks! Anyway, I've bought discounted gummies before (not that brand) and they seemed fine. But u gotta check the expiration date. Sometimes sales are because they're nearing expiry. If it's still a few months out, I'd say go for it. Also, Costco has a great return policy, so if they don't work, take 'em back. No harm in trying at that price.

As a vegan, I'd first check if those gummies are vegan. Many cheap ones use gelatin or carrageenan. Also, lower price could mean they use cheaper filler ingredients like corn syrup or artificial colors. Not necessarily lower quality probiotics, but the overall product might be less clean. If you're okay with that, the price is a steal. But for me, I'd rather pay more for a vegan, non-GMO option. Just my 2 cents.

From an eco-warrior perspective, big box stores often have sales to move inventory that's overpackaged. That said, if the gummies are in a recyclable bottle, great. I'd also look at the CFU count – sometimes sale items have lower CFU than the regular version. But honestly, Costco usually doesn't skimp on quality. I've gotten supplements there before and they were legit. Just make sure the bottle is sealed and not damaged. And hey, if it saves you money, that's more for sustainable purchases elsewhere! 🌿

Thanks everyone! I checked the bottle – it's got 5 billion CFU, vegan, and expires in 8 months. Seems legit. I'll grab it and report back. Worst case, I return it. Appreciate the tips!
