THREAD: Looking for Sea Moss Gummy Recommendations - Gift for Aging Parent or Fitness Friend?Started by OP

Hey everyone, need some advice! I'm looking to buy some sea moss gummies as a gift - either for my dad who's in his 70s and could use some immune support, or for my friend who's super into fitness and always trying new supplements. Anyone have experience with specific brands or 'health packs' that include sea moss? Looking for something effective but also tastes decent since it's a gift. Thanks in advance!

Fascinating topic! Sea moss (Chondrus crispus) contains 92 of the 102 minerals our bodies need, including iodine, potassium, and magnesium. For aging parents, I'd recommend checking the iodine content - too much can affect thyroid function. Look for brands that third-party test for heavy metals since sea moss can absorb contaminants. 'Vitality Naturals' has a transparent lab report on their site, and their gummies have a decent pectin base instead of gelatin. For your fitness friend, consider blends with added turmeric or ashwagandha for recovery support.

Yo! I've tried like 5 different sea moss gummy brands this year lol. For your fitness friend, def go with 'Athletic Greens' sea moss blend - it's got added B12 and electrolytes which are clutch for post-workout. Tastes like citrus, not too seaweed-y. For your dad, maybe something simpler? 'Simple Truth' organic ones are at most health stores, no weird additives. Pro tip: check the sugar content - some brands pack like 8g per serving which defeats the purpose imo. Also sea moss won't magically make anyone ripped, but good for joint health which we all need!

omg i feel this - my mom's in her late 60s and i got her some last christmas. she actually liked the 'Elderberry & Sea Moss' combo from Nature's Way because it didn't taste fishy at all (big win). they have a 'senior wellness pack' with vitamin D and zinc too which is good for immunity. as a perpetually tired parent myself, i take the cheap store brand ones sometimes...they're fine? but for a gift def go name brand. also make sure they're easy to open - some bottles are impossible for arthritic hands. good luck!
