THREAD: Sea Moss Gummies: Are we just eating candy disguised as supplements?Started by CrystalCathy502

Ugh, I just checked the label on my new sea moss gummies and they have 8g of added sugar per serving! That's like 2 teaspoons. I started taking sea moss for its mineral content and supposed health benefits, but this feels counterproductive. Are we just candy-fying supplements now for convenience? What happened to pure, unadulterated wellness products?

I get your concern, but as someone who hates swallowing pills, I love the gummy format! I use a smart supplement tracker app that syncs with my fitness watch, and it's so much easier to log gummies than remember to take capsules. The sugar content isn't ideal, but there are sugar-free options with stevia or monk fruit. Have you tried those? Technology has made supplement-taking way more accessible!

I make my own sea moss gel from dried seaweed - it's actually pretty simple! I blend it with water and a bit of lemon juice, then add it to smoothies or sauces. No sugar needed, and I know exactly what's in it. The gummies seem like a processed shortcut to me. If you're worried about purity, maybe try the raw ingredient approach? I have a great recipe if anyone wants it!

NectarNina371 - I haven't tried the sugar-free versions yet, good point! But I'm skeptical about artificial sweeteners too. EcoEllen492 - I admire your DIY approach! I might try that, though I worry about consistency and dosage accuracy. There's something to be said for standardized supplements... but maybe not when they're loaded with sugar. Has anyone found a brand that balances purity with convenience?
