THREAD: Weird side effect from sea moss gummies? Anyone else?Started by EcoEllen430

Hey everyone! I started taking sea moss gummies about a week ago (the organic brand from the health store). They taste fine and I feel good, but I've been having these super vivid dreams every night! Like, last night I dreamed I was a sea turtle swimming through kelp forests. It's not scary or anything, just really intense. Has anyone else experienced this with sea moss gummies? Is this normal?

Ellen, that's fascinating! As a holistic healer, I've seen this before. Sea moss is rich in minerals like iodine and magnesium that can affect sleep patterns and brain function. Those vivid dreams might be your body detoxing or your subconscious processing things. I'd say it's a positive sign - your system is responding to the nutrients! Maybe try journaling about the dreams?

omg YES! I switched to sea moss gummies last month to cut back on coffee (trying to be healthier lol). I haven't had vivid dreams, but my taste buds changed?? Like, coffee tastes weirdly metallic now and sweet things are TOO sweet. My friend said it might be the iodine? Also my pee is brighter yellow - not dark, just... neon-ish. Should I be worried?

Skeptical mom here. Bright urine usually means you're just well-hydrated or your body is excreting excess B vitamins (common in gummies). The taste thing could be temporary. But everyone - please check with your doctor before assuming supplements are harmless! Especially if you're pregnant/nursing or on medications. My rule: when in doubt, leave it out.

Thanks everyone! MindfulMila - glad I'm not alone! FloraFinn - good point about checking with a doctor. I'll monitor it and maybe reduce to every other day. The dreams are actually kind of cool (sea turtle was majestic), but I don't want anything weird happening. EcoEllen663 - I'll try the journaling idea!
