Best shilajit gummies for a gift?? Aging dad + fitness freak friend
Hey all, kinda new here. I'm trying to put together a little 'health pack' for my dad's 65th bday and also maybe something for my buddy who's super into crossfit and won't shut up about his supplements lol. I keep seeing shilajit gummies pop up everywhere. Anyone got a brand they actually trust? I'm paleo so I'm picky about fillers and junk. Dad has mild arthritis and low energy, friend wants 'performance'. Halp!
Yo Zack, I've been on the shilajit train for like 8 months now. I tried the gummies from PureHimalaya (I think that's the name?) and they were decent but kinda pricey. Honestly the gummy format is way more convenient than the tar/resin stuff. For your dad, look for one with fulvic acid + no added sugar. For your gym bro, he might prefer the ones with a bit of cordyceps thrown in. I can dig up the exact label if you want. Just don't buy the random Amazon ones with 2 stars lol.
Just a heads up, a lot of shilajit gummies use gelatin or beeswax so they're NOT vegan. If that matters for you or your dad (or your friend), check the label carefully. I found a vegan one from a brand called AltNature but it had mixed reviews. Also, ethically sourced shilajit is a big deal – some come from protected areas. Not trying to be a downer, just saying do your homework. Your dad might honestly prefer a good B12 or D3 gummy if he's low energy, just my 2 cents.
I'm a marathon runner and I've used shilajit off and on. For the fitness friend, gummies are fine but the dose is usually low. I'd rather do the resin in my smoothie. That said, for a gift, gummies are way less messy. My gf got me a pack from 'Himalaya Fuel' or something and I liked em. Felt a little boost on long runs, could be placebo tho. For your dad, maybe pair it with a good omega-3. Also, check if the gummies have maltodextrin or corn syrup – that stuff spikes my blood sugar and I'm not even diabetic.
Thanks guys, this is super helpful. Yeah I def wanna avoid maltodextrin and gelatin. I'll look into PureHimalaya and AltNature. And good call on the omega-3 for dad. @SproutSid148 do you remember if that AltNature one was third-party tested? I don't wanna give my dad heavy metals or something. Also lol @KetoKevin577 'could be placebo' – at least you're honest. I'll probably grab a small pack of gummies for the friend and a resin for myself to try. Appreciate the recs!
