THREAD: Shilajit Gummies: Are We Just Eating Candy Now?Started by EarthElias485

Hey everyone, just tried these new Shilajit gummies and I'm kinda shocked. The ingredient list shows 8g of sugar per serving! I get that they're trying to make supplements more appealing, but aren't we just turning health products into candy? My kids saw them and thought they were regular gummies - that's concerning. What's the point of taking something for wellness if it's loaded with sugar? Am I overreacting here?

EarthElias, I hear you, but as someone who HATES swallowing pills, these are a game-changer! The mango-flavored ones actually taste decent, unlike that earthy Shilajit resin that makes me gag. Yeah there's some sugar, but it's way less than a soda. If the choice is between taking my supplements consistently because they taste good vs. skipping them entirely... I'll take the gummies every time. Plus they're portable!

Both missing the point. Sugar aside, the real issue is bioavailability. Shilajit needs to be taken with fat for proper absorption - gummies don't provide that. I've tested my biomarkers with resin vs gummies, and the resin wins every time. The 'candy-fication' isn't just about sugar - it's about sacrificing efficacy for convenience. If you want real benefits, stick to pure resin with some MCT oil.

BioBob - I get the convenience factor, truly. But as a mom, I'm worried about normalizing 'medicine as candy' for kids (and adults!). VitalVince makes a good point too - if they're less effective, why bother? Maybe there's a middle ground? Like sugar-free options or different delivery methods that don't feel like treating health like dessert?

VitalVince - your biohacking data is cool and all, but most of us aren't tracking biomarkers daily. For regular people just trying to feel better, consistency matters MORE than perfect absorption. If gummies get someone taking Shilajit who otherwise wouldn't, that's a win. EarthElias - some brands DO make sugar-free versions! Check the 'clean' supplement brands. They use stevia or monk fruit instead.
